Dead Stop (universal) is a tower defense game with a zombie appeal. Gamers must work hard to place towers on each level to help the mad scientist destroy the zombies to keep the survivors alive.
When each level starts, gamers place towers in the perfect locations to take on the hordes of zombies. The towers are completely upgradable with coins that players earn from killing zombies and destroying objects like birds and road blocks. If the waves take too long, simply rush them to earn even more coins.
Along with towers, players also can use special weapons like lightening strikes to take out the zombies. Special powers are earned by collecting up to three stars at the end of each level, which are earned based off how well players perform. Those who are impatient can use in-app purchases for more stars or coins, but they are not required. However, some of the harder levels may convince you to purchase them.
Dead Stop includes 30 levels of mayhem. All of the levels are unique and different so the game never gets too boring or repetitive. My only complaint is that the graphics seem a bit too cartoonish and overdone. Zombies are suppose to be scary and creepy, but these undead creatures look more like toys. The sound effects also were bothersome at times so I elected to turn them off.
Overall, it’s refreshing to see a tower defense game that also includes zombies. The artwork and game play make Dead Stop different from all the other TD games in the App Store, and its challenging game play keeps it from going stale. It’s currently less than one dollar right now, which is a steal for a universal tower defense game. Add it to your gaming library today and save the survivors from the zombie invasion.
